Bárbara Mori Ochoa (Montevideo; February 1978) is a Uruguayan or Mexican
film and television actress.
Of Spanish, Lebanese and Japanese ancestors, at the age of three her parents
divorced her, leaving her with her two brothers, in the care of her father. She
spent her childhood traveling between Mexico and Uruguay.
When she was twelve years old, she moved to Mexico City with her father
and her brothers to live and settle permanently.
At the age of fourteen, while helping at her father's pizzeria called "La Nona"
in Colonia Insurgents Mixcoac in Mexico, she met designer Marcos Toledo, with whom she worked
as a model for a few years. After the pizzeria went bankrupt, she worked for a time at the
Japanese restaurant "Chico", located in the Del Valle neighborhood. Later she began acting studies
at CEA Televise, which she did not complete.
In 1996 she began studying at the Center for Actor Training Studies (CEFAC) of TV Azteca.
At the age of nineteen, Mori had an affair with the Mexican actor and producer Sergio Mayer, with
whom she has a son, Sergio Mayer Mori, born in February 1998. The couple, who did not marry,
separated on good terms. In November 2016, at age 38, Barbara became a grandmother after the
birth of her granddaughter Mila.
