Museum Night 2024
Explore the city all night long, hopping from museum to museum and visiting all the exhibitions
you can’t see during the day. There’s so much to experience that one night won’t be enough!
Buenos Aires is getting ready to celebrate one of the capital's biggest cultural events of
the yearMuseum Night 2024 finally has a date! This long spring night of November 9
will showcase art, history, and culture throughout the city. There was uncertainty
about the event this year, but it will take place!
The 20th edition will once again attract thousands of locals and tourists who will be
able to explore museums, cultural centers, institutions, and iconic buildings
completely free of charge. All participating spacesfrom local museums to historic
buildings and cultural venueswill open their doors at unusual hours, from 7 PM to 2
AM, for visitors to enjoy their exhibitions and activities completely. There will also be
talks, cultural activities, musical performances, and bike tours. Plus, you can go all over
BA by bus, subway, or the Premetro from 6 PM until closing time showing the Free
Pass, which you can print out or keep on your phone. (The 2024 pass will be available
for download soon.)
As every year, over 230 museums and institutions will participate in this special
event, providing a unique experience for visitors of all ages. Museum Night is an
occasion that brings families together, with activities specifically designed for children
(games and workshops).
It’s a good idea to plan your route based on the museums you want to visit to save time
and appreciate each museum better! (There are neighborhoods with a high
concentration of museums, such as Retiro, Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo, La Boca, and
Recoleta—Don’t forget that Malba has just added a new artwork valued at nearly 30
million dollars!) And check the social media pages of each museum you plan to visit for
the schedule of activities! (The 2024 programing and different activities will be
confirmed in the next weeks.)
Museums and institutions under the Ministry of Culture of the Nation will join
Museum Night with a variety of exhibitions, performances, concerts, and theater
productions. Some places include: Cabildo, Museum of Costume, Manzana de las
Luces, National Historical Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Decorative Art Museum,
Palais de Glace, National Bicentennial House, among others.
