My Experience My first week of internship here at our school Inaclagan Integrated School, I have been a little bet pressured but exciting. At this day were having a face-to-face orientation with our assigned Cooperating Teacher Mrs. Analiza A. Pandi. During our first meeting with Ma’am Pandi I was happy and thankful to his for warmly welcoming and accepting us as her Student Teacher. She makes us feel comfortable and special with her. In our face-to-face orientation or meeting she discussed with us what our requirement to her as our cooperating teacher including the lesson plan and etc. Furthermore, he gives us a very motivated word and instruction that may help us to apply to our future student and become effective educator. After the meeting we visit and checking the rooms where we will do a structuring. The next day I am starting introducing myself to my students (Grade 8-Integrity, Grade 7-Faith, Grade 8-Respect and Grade 7-Hope) and I am still trying to get down everyone’s names, where everything is, and what exactly I will be expected to do here throughout the semester. I have spent this week really reading and studying the topics I will discuss to them and taking notes the procedures manual as well as theirs standards and criteria manual provided by my adviser. My Learnings I learned that sometimes when it comes to teaching the students always wanted to not stick with the basic teachings that they always encountered in their adviser or teacher. And most of the time they are very active if Week 2: March 18-22 2024 My Experience Monday 9:30 is my teaching schedule to my Grade 8-Respect. March 18 was my first synchronous class with my students, and I did not deny that it was challenging for me to handle a student’s who aren’t in my same age. Maybe because I was scared but I am very comfortable to show my skill and confidence to the children rather than to the adult, I felt nervous and afraid that I didn’t do my responsibility as a student teacher to them. My Learnings I learned that in discussion I use to communicate with them with English Speaking but most of them wanted to speak in tagalog but since I am their teacher, I tried them to push themselves to speak in English. My Realization During my synchronous class, I cannot deny that there are a lot of things that I don’t know much about being teacher. I am still struggling to truly understand my role here and what the instructors does. Week 3: March 25-29 2024 Week three was definitely a busy one. We starting to help our cooperating teacher to prepare the examination for the students. The next day, I am going to check the assessment one of my Grade 7 students. While checking it makes me feel happy and proud to them for showing their talents and efforts in their task, aside from that they
apply their learning outcomes aligned with learning competencies. The next day I announced to my students about their examination so that they can start reviewing their lesson. Saturday and Sunday I spent the day in studying my next lesson and making PowerPoint presentation to be discuss next week. Week 4: April 1-5 2024 My Experiences Week four is also a busy one. Monday was my synchronous class schedule to my students. I am going to discuss with them the topics that I have, at this time I am finally comfortable in my role here as a teacher maybe because I already close and familiar with them. In teaching I give some examples and ask more questions to them as my strategy. I also give them a task or activity. My Learnings I can say that my methods/strategy of approaching to them is a little bit improve because during this time I notice that some of the students are participating, they are confidently sharing their ideas and opinions to everyone maybe they are now comfortable with me after of knowing each other and showing my fully support to them. My Realizations I realize that I was already experiencing what a teacher can do, how hard and stressful it is. Week 5: April 8-12 2024 I spent the week in studying my next lesson and by checking the activities of my students. At this time my co-student teachers and I are now starting planning for our final demo. I remember what Sir Erickson told us he said that it will be challenging for us who handling a major subject. The next day, I am making my PowerPoint presentation at the same time I am also starting to do my E-portfolio as our internship requirement such as taking pictures and my weekly journal. My Learnings I learned that I should used the days by asking and answering their concerns, their concerns, reminding and giving them an instruction about their task. Through this I know their concerns and recognize who is having a problem or have not. My Realization Yes, it’s hard for me specially to the part of thinking a motivation and activity for them which is relate to the topics unlike the general topics that usually taught in elementary Week 6: April 15-19 2024 The sixth week is more work for me, I spend the whole week in preparing for our upcoming final demo together with my co-intern. Monday is our synchronous class schedule, even though we don’t have a class meeting My Realizations I should woke up early and started the day by reminding my students about their concerns and enquires in the subjects. That time the students are actively cooperate and respond to my questions and I am happy for that, because it means that my strategy to communicating with was improved and now we are computable with each other’s as a students and teacher.
some of our students seemed unprepared as they relied on a copy while acting out their roles. I inquired why this was so, and they informed me that it was their first time engaging in this type of activity. My Learnings I learned that this internship has been on enriching experiences for me. I continue to learn new skills and gain valuable insights as I work along side our students. I am excited about what the next week has in store for us, and I look forward to further honing my teaching abilities while positively impacting the lives of those under my core. My Realization I realized that besides the time constraint we face, our students’ unfamiliarity with the activity could also have contributed to their lack of preparation. Nevertheless, I encouraged them to continue working hard and to put in more effort into their preparations for the next activity. Week 10: May 13- As we reached the final week of our unforgettable stay at our cooperating school, we found ourselves swiftly wrapping up all the remaining tasks on our checklist. The sense of accomplishment and fulfillment washed over us as we successfully passed our final demonstrations, alongside my colleagues. The jour
