Pyramus and Thisbe’s Love Story Narrator: In an ancient place of Babylon, two hearts beat as one. Pyramus, a handsome young man (ang light adto ni pyramus focus) and Thisbe, a beautiful young woman(ang light adto ni thisbe). Between them is a wall that hinders their growing affection and love for each other. And Just like the wall that’s keeping them away together, Pyramus and Thisbe's parents did not approve of their relationship. Scene 1 Pyramus:(leaning against the wall) Oh, Thisbe, my love, how I yearn for thee! This cruel wall, it keeps you far from me. If only it would crumble, and I could hold your hand,Together, forever, we’d make our stand. Thisbe:(from the other side) Dear Pyramus, my heart is yours to keep, In dreams, it’s you I hold when I fall asleep. But this wall is our prison, our love’s silent jail, We’ll find a way to break through, we shall not fail! (Thisbe’s parents saw and heared everything, They went to her angrily!) Thisbe's mother: Thisbe! What a foolish child! You've done nothing better than whispering with that wall and disobey us. How could you turn us down for that useless man. ( Pyramus worriedly screams “pls don't hit her madam. Hurt me instead”.) Thisbe: (crying but proving her point) How could you utter such words for him! If loving someone who makes me feel alive is foolish, then maybe I want to be foolish. He is special to me! He is everythi (cutted with a slap from her father) Thisbe's Father. Have you gone mad? He is no good for you Thisbe, neither for our family! Go back inside or I'll disown you! Pyramus: Please sir! Hurt me instead! Please! I beseech you! (Pyramus parents heard their son so they went hurriedly to him.)
Pyramus’ mom: What are you doing! And why would a noble man ask to be hit for that desperate girl? Pyramus Dad: Idiot! You are just staining our names if you continue this nonsense love story! Scene 2 Narrator: They have grown up and learned to love each other amidst the will of their parents to stand against them. Love however cannot be forbidden. The cracked in the wall was their only means to express themselves, their ever affectionate feelings. (Thisbe looking at the stars very hopeful to see Pyramus) Thisbe: I wish we could be up there, in the stars. Where nothing else matters. Where it’s just us, without the weight of the world trying to keep us apart. They’d never allow us to be together. Everyone says it’s wrong. But how can love be wrong if it feels this real? (Pyramus making a way to catch Thisbe's attention) (Thisbe very happy and excited to see Pyramus so she went immediately to him as silent as possible) Pyramus: Oh my love, how I miss those beautiful eyes shining like the stars in the night sky. I have a plan for us, my love, Because I can't wait for fate's slow hand. I dream of days when we are free, Where we can finally take our stand. The world may whisper we’re too bold, But I refuse to live apart. I’ll carve a path, defeat the storm, To hold you closer in my heart. Thisbe: Pyramus my love, how I wish to be with you either. I will do everything to make that plan of yours come true. Narrator: With hearts full of hope, they plot their escape,To meet in the shadows, to love, and to drape. The world in their passion, to cast off their fears,But fate has its plans, and it draws ever near.
Pyramus:Wait… This is Thisbe’s veil! Why is it here?(It’s torn. He looks around, confused and then worried.)No… no, no. Thisbe, where are you? What happened? (He hears a rustling sound and looks up to see a lion approaching. His eyes widen in fear as he puts the pieces together.) Pyramus:A lion! A lion must have attacked her!(Looking at the veil, panicked)She dropped this when she ran, didn’t she? And the lion—did it… kill her? (He clutches the veil tightly, devastated, backing away slightly from the imagined horror.) Pyramus:No… This can’t be happening. Thisbe’s gone. The lion… the lion killed her! (He drops to his knees, holding the veil in his hands, completely overwhelmed by the thought.) Pyramus:Thisbe… I’m so sorry. I should have been here sooner… Now, now you’re… gone. (Pyramus stares blankly at the ground, lost in grief.) Narrator: Pyramus, stricken with grief and despair, holds the veil of his beloved Thisbe, now convinced that she has been slain by a wild beast. His mind races, his heart shattered. The weight of the moment presses down on him, and in his agony, he makes a fateful decision. Pyramus (voice trembling) If I can’t live with you, Thisbe, I’ll join you in the next life. (pulls out his sword and looks at it, determined) It’s the only way. We’ll be together again—no more fear, no more pain. Narrator: Pyramus, full of sorrow and conviction, raises the sword and striked it into his chest. Scene 6 Thisbe: Pyramus, my love have you arrived? (Thisbe saw Pyramus lying on the ground, lifeless.) Thisbe: Oh my love! Why hast thou left me?
Thisbe sobbing and embraces his body Thisbe: Oh! Cold, stiff and pale. What a cruel fate. (Thisbe saw the sword and took it.) Thisbe: This sword, it took your life, this too, will end mine. Farewell to this world, for my love and I will be together in the underworld. Narrator: Thisbe, with her last strength, joined him in death. Though the world had kept them apart in life, nothing could separate them now. And so, by that tree where their dreams had once flourished, their love found a final resting place. And in memory of their love, the once-white mulberries were forever stained a deep red, as if marked by the blood and passion of two hearts that beat as one. The End.
