At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
A. identify the four main types of exercise (aerobics, strength, flexibility and
balance)
B. state the benefits of each type of exercise and how they contribute to health and
fitness

Materials: Laptop, TV, Handouts
III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of attendance
4. Presentation of classroom rules
5. Review
B. Motivation
The teacher will show the students a short video about different exercises.
After the video, the teacher will ask the following question:
1. What can you say about the video you just watched?
2. Did you know there are different types of exercise?
C. Presentation of the Topic
Our topic this morning/afternoon is all about the Four types of exercise.
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1. identify the three main types of exercise
2. state the benefits of each type of exercise and how they contribute to health and
fitness
3. participate in hands-on activities to experience each type of exercise

I.   1. Prayer
  2. Greetings
  3. Checking of attendance

D. Lesson Proper

  1. Aerobic Exercise
    1. The students will read what aerobic exercise is and how it contributes to health and fitness.
    2. The teacher will show on the monitor some examples of aerobic exercise. Activity 1 “ Cardio Blast ” In this activity, the teacher would play upbeat music and lead the class in a 2-minute cardio exercise After the activity:
  2. The teacher will ask the students how they feel and explain how their heart rate increased.
  3. Strength Exercise 1. The students will read what strength exercise is and how it contributes to health and fitness.
    1. The teacher will show on the monitor some examples of strength exercise. Activity 2 “ The Mighty lift ” In this activity, the teacher will set up 3 stations (30 seconds each)
  4. Bodyweight squats
  5. Lunges
  6. Planks After the activity:
  7. The teacher will ask the students how they feel and which exercise they find challenging.
  8. Flexibility Exercise 1. The students will read what flexibility exercise is and how it contributes to health and fitness.
    1. The teacher will show on the monitor some examples of flexibility exercise. Activity 3 “ Stretch and Relax ”  The teacher will lead the class in a 5-minute stretching routine
  9. Shoulder Stretch
  10. Standing forward bend
  11. Inner thighs stretch After the activity:
  12. The teacher will ask the students how they feel after stretching and why do they think flexibility is important.
  13. Balance Exercise 1. The students will read what balance exercise is and how it contributes to health and fitness.
    1. The teacher will show on the monitor some examples of balance exercise. Activity 5 “ The Steady Stand ”  The teacher will lead the class in a 2-minute balance routine
  14. Tree Pose
