Final Exam Format and Sample Questions, CHIN1031, 2022

Format: Online via Zoom
Time: 50 minutes (If you have an accommodation letter and need more time, please email me
before the final so I can arrange it).

Instructions
Step 1: Before class test your video and audio and make sure they both work. Have ready a piece
of blank paper and an ink pen.-No pencils are allowed.-On the paper, write down your name,
your student ID number, and “Final Exam”
Step 2: Your camera and microphone both have to be on during the test. (If your camera or
microphone is turned off at any point during the test, your test will be considered invalid.)
Step 3: During the exam, no references, hard-copy or electronic, are allowed. Make sure no
references are nearby.
Step 4: Copy only the question numbers (no need to copy questions) and write your answers.
Step 5: Scan and Submit your exam in one pdf file on Brightspace immediately after the test in
the instructor’s presence.
Sample Test
I. Using the given words to answer the questions. Your answers have to be complete
sentences, and you need to hand-write the answers in simplified characters. (5% X 2
= 10%)
1. Do you eat fruits, snacks, or candies? (都)
2. Where are you going now? (笔记)
3. Is she your Chinese teacher? (不)
II. Using the given words to describe the picture. In your description, you have to use
all the given words. Your description should NOT be shorter than two complete
sentences. Hand-write your description in simplified characters (you can use Pinyin for
characters not required). (15%)
