0o 22 13 SUPPLEMENTA,L IN$TRUCTIONS TO^ BIDDERS
SITE EXAMINATION
A. The Bidder shall be held^ to^ have^ examined the^ site and^ to^ have compared^ it^ with
the plans and specifications included in^ the^ bid documents^ and^ to have^ become
familiar with the conditions^ existing,^ the^ storage^ and^ handling of materials,^ and all
other matters that^ may be incidental to^ the work^ for^ the^ Project, before submitting
its bid proPosal.
B. Submission of^ a^ bid^ proposalwill be^ considered aa^ representation^ by the^ Bidder evidence that^ such^ an^ examination^ has^ been^ made.^ No^ allowance^ will subsequently be^ made^ to the^ successful Bidder^ by^ reason^ of^ any^ error on^ the part (^) of such Bidder, arising from the^ Bidder's^ neglect^ to^ comply^ with^ the
requirements of this Section A above.
C, Submission of^ a^ bid^ proposal^ will be^ considered^ presumptive^ evidence that^ the
submitting Bidder^ is^ familiar^ with^ local facilities and^ difficulties,^ the^ requirements
of the plans^ and specifications^ and of^ pertinent^ local and state codes, state labor
and material markets, and has made^ due^ allowance^ in its^ bid^ proposal^ for^ all contingencies.
D. No compensation^ will^ be^ allowed^ by^ reason^ of^ any^ difficulties^ which^ the successful Bidder could have^ discovered^ or^ reasonably anticipated prior^ to bidding.
E. The Bidder shall make its own measurements^ to^ determine the size^ of^ the^ roof which is the subject^ of this Project.^ The^ dimensions^ given^ in^ the^ plans^ are
offered onlV^ for^ colvenience^ and^ are^ not warranted to be^ correct.
F. Other construction^ work^ on the site^ of the^ Project may^ be^ in progress,^ The
successful Bidder shall coordinate^ its^ work^ with^ all others on the^ site.
G. The work must^ be^ done without interfering^ with^ the^ operations^ or^ occupancy^ of
the building in^ anY waY.
H. Bid^ security^ in^ the form^ of^ a^ certified check^ or^ bid^ surety^ bond,^ issued^ by^ a
bonding company^ licensed^ to^ do^ business^ in the^ State^ of^ Connecticut,
shall be submitted with each^ bid^ proposal^ in the^ amount^ of^ 10o/o^ of^ the
base bid reflected in such^ proposal.^ Bid security shall be made payable to
the New Canaan Board of^ Education and^ the^ Town^ of^ New Canaan.
A completed Statement^ of^ Bidders^ Qualifications^ (Section 00^45 13)^ and^ sample
roofing systems guarantee/warranty (Sections^ 01 78^ 36 and^ 07 53^ 23.01)^ shall
be submitted as^ part^ of^ the^ bid proposal.

Umbrella/Excess liability:^ IMth^ limits^ not^ less than $5,000,000^ per
occurrence and^ $5,000,000 in^ the^ aggregate.
Additional lnsured:^ The^ New Canaan Board of Education and the Town^ of
New Canaan^ shall be^ named as^ additional^ insureds^ under^ the^ Commercial
General and^ Umbrella/Excess^ Liability^ lnsurance^ Policies.
lndemnification: The^ successful^ Bidder's^ indemnification obligations^ are
set forth in the Form^ of^ Contract. Such indemnification obligations^ shall^ be
insured under the Bidder's^ liability insurance^ policies.
CHANGE ORDER.S-
The markup for^ overhead and profit^ on^ any change order^ under^ the^ contract^ for
the project^ shall not^ exceed^ frTteen^ percent^ (15Vo)^ of^ the net^ increase^ in^ the
actual cost of the Work arising from the change^ in^ the^ Work^ which^ is^ the^ subject
of such change order.
