Reproductive System (Day 1)
This lesson follows directly after the puberty lesson on the same day.
Introduction:
As we are getting older and things are changing in our bodies, it is important to be able to understand how the
changes to the reproductive systems can impact you, and those around you.
Handout the Reproductive System Packet and ask students to identify and fill in as many reproductive organs as they
can. Tell students to do this on their own and it is okay if they don’t know very many. Also let them know that they
can only use actual body part names. They are not to use slang names. Give the example, don’t call the male parts
“balls”. That would be slang. Ask the students what they are actually called? Prompt them to answer testicles. (5
min.)
Launch Activity:
Let the students know that we are now going to go through the male and female reproductive systems. We will look
at all the parts of both the male and female systems as well as how they work. Please write the names and functions
of each part of the systems, in the packet while we go through the Reproductive System PowerPoint. Tell the
students as they go through and write the names of the systems, if they previously wrote in any incorrect answers,
to not erase them. Simply put a line through it and write the correct name next to it. Use the attached notes to help
with discussing the names and functions of each part of the systems. (25 min.)
