VRPE ;

“A combined programme that utilises ‘See Think Act’ as a

foundation then adds on complimentary parts of other

violence reduction projects. “

We chose to centre on See Think Act as it has

  • A specific and large evidence base for secure services.
  • It is a common language spoken between all secure services.
  • It is supported by RCPsych.
  • We have a number of evidence based projects that reduce violence and improve patient outcomes.
  • Individually these work well, but work better together. Unless these projects are combined meaningfully, we risk duplication of effort and time. DRAFT

  • Do you have a project related to Violence reduction?
  • Do you have something you think could help out patients move on in a meaningful way?
  • Are you interested in taking a lead on your ward for VRPE? DRAFT

To achieve our outcome measures, our process measures will be:

  • A month on month increase in the number of people that have had the VRPE training
  • Each ward to have a functional and regularly Updated relational security resources.
  • There will be a relational security group on site.
  • Each ward will be able to identify non-negotiable and negotiable boundaries (those that a judgement can be made about)
  • Subjectively, there will be an increase of staff and patients feeling more involved in relational security and boundaries.
