THE OPPORTUNITY
ARROW Utilities (ARROW) is regional services
commission providing wastewater transmission and
treatment services to over 300,000 people in 13
municipalities surrounding the City of Edmonton.
ARROW owns and operates over 200 km of
wastewater transmission lines, 5 pumping stations,
and a modern state of the art wastewater treatment
plant.
Our mission is to provide safe, reliable, cost efficient,
and environmentally responsible wastewater
transmission and treatment service.
There is an exciting opportunity to join our Corporate
Services team, responsible plant and transmission parts
and equipment . Reporting to the Director of Corporate
Services, the Purchaser is primarily responsible for:
Purchasing goods and services as required
from other departments. Includes tracking
delivery and lead times.
Alberta Purchasing Connection
administrator.
Administer all ARROW Utilities noncapital
contracts.
File and Update Contractor Maintenance
Work Requests
Coordinate Insurance requirements for
contracts
WCB/Insurance checks on service providers
on Commission property
Maintain Approved Vendors List
Prepare credit applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess relevant post-secondary education
or experience.
3-5 years of purchasing experience
Industrial or wastewater plant experience is
considered an asset.
Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance
equipment is considered an asset.
Efficient computer skills e.g. Microsoft
office, document management and work
manger systems.
Must have excellent organizational and
communications skills.
Must be a self-starter, able to work without
supervision, exercise good judgment,
effectively handle conflicting priorities, public
demands, complaints and emergency
situations.
COMPENSATION
This part-time position has a salary range of $36,000-
$44,000/ annum, and 20 hours weekly or 40 hours bi-
weekly as negotiated. This position can work from home
for a portion of the work week. Candidate must be within
one hour driving distance to the plant.
This position has a preferable start date of November 27,
2023, or as negotiated.
