TERM 1
DEFINITION 1 Poverty, the lack of basic everyday needs, so what do we lack? Generosity and Liberality, thats what. Why is it easy to throw away a cent, but difficult to give one? Difficult to give food to the needy, but easy to throw it away? How can we put money in a cash register and not a donation box? We are so careless worrying about unnecessary things, that we forget what is occurring around us today. Poverty isnt something that will just go away, its growing rapidly and fast! TERM 2
DEFINITION 2 In life there comes a point where we feel that Life just isnt for us and tell ourselves its hard. But what is our hard compared to theirs? You think getting out of bed is hard? You know whats hard? Concrete. The hard concrete they slept on wishing they had a bed. If going to school is difficult, think about not going to school at all and not having the right to learn anything at all. If getting out of bed is hard, imagine going sleep at night not sure if youll even wake up the next morning. TERM 3
DEFINITION 3
TERM 4
DEFINITION 4 There are two types of poverty, absolute poverty and relative poverty, these two things both lack needs but in a slightly different way. Absolute poverty is the lack of everyday needs such as food, clothing and shelter. On the other hand relative poverty conditions lead to disadvantages through unemployment, low income, poor health care coverage and lack of education. There is a difference between a child left to suffer for days and a child going to school with no lunch. TERM 5

DEFINITION 6
TERM 7
DEFINITION 7 Living a good life shouldnt be based upon ourselves but the life of others too. We dont realise how lucky we are to have the possessions we have today, whether its a blanket, water or small things such as a dollar. Yes a dollar, a dollar is more than what you think and 3 Billion people would agree with me on that one. More than 3 billion people live on less than $2.50 a day.More than 1. billion live in extreme poverty less than $1.25 a day. Using a dollar to buy lollies is one thing and using a dollar to live off is another. TERM 8
DEFINITION 8 Poverty probably doesnt cross your mind often, the only time its probably crossed your mind is through a one minute ad - sponsor a child for $10 it says. In that moment, you take pity and compassion on them, and in the next minute you're doing something, as if that ad never came on. Is that what poverty means to us? A one minute ad? A weeping child on your screen whom youll take pity for? Imagine yourself in their shoes? While we sit here to feel sorry, they sit there and feel hungry, sick and feel the edge of death creeping in. TERM 9
DEFINITION 9 It doesnt matter how fast or slow poverty is occurring, the major problem is, that its happening. Many people lose their life from this while we happily lives ours.Right now someones heart is about to stop, but ours isnt. With that, let our heart do great things. Let it change a life and help a life, our heart is capable of many things, just like keep another ones beating.
