TITLE NAME OF DATABASE:

▪ POINT OF SALE SYSTEM

PHASE 1

Each and every business owner wants to know which product sells the most, which clients buy the most frequently, how much inventory is on hand, which payment method consumers prefer (cash, credit, checks, or debit), and how much we actually sold on a given day. To give the business owner this data, point-of-sale systems were created. The biggest retailer uses a proprietary point-of-sale system. Knowing the precise sales volume on any particular day and at any time during the day is helpful. The number of cashiers they will require for specific shifts on any given day of the week may be accurately predicted using this information. Additionally, it lowers labor expenses because fewer cashiers are required because only the right number of registers may be opened up. Additionally, customers won't leave the store because of excessively long queues by keeping the right number of cashiers on duty during peak hours. Having an efficient point of sale (POS) system can go a long way in making sure that all your operations are working in unison, and retailers that spend the time and resources to implement such a system before they need it will reap the benefits. Point of sale systems are systems that enable the business transaction between the client and the company to be completed. POS system is a computerized network that consists of the main computer linked with several checkout terminals and supported by different hardware features starting from barcode scanners and ending with card payment terminals.

PHASE 3 – ENTITY RELATIONSHIPS WITH CARDINALITIES

In entity relationships, in this part explains what is the purpose of cardinalities in entities with cardinalities. One or more people can purchase items to one or more orders from delivery drivers to people who can purchase items and Many items to belongs in many categories like Kitchenware, appliances, self care, and many more.

PART 4 – ATTRIBUTED ENTITY RELATIONSHIPS WITH CARDINALITIES AND KEY CONSTRAINTS

In this part of attributed relationships with cardinalities and key constraints, we have given the possible attributes of every entity in our ERD. That's been derived from every entity of the system. Example the items attributes in its Category_id, description, price, name, and item_id. And the point of sales is the center of the system that has the ID's of every entity of the system.
