WHAT IS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY?

Physical activity encompasses any bodily movement

requiring energy expenditure, engaging muscles and raising

heart rate and breathing. This includes exercise, sports,

recreational activities, daily chores, occupational tasks and

commuting. Regular physical activity promotes overall health an

well-being, improving cardiovascular health, managing weight,

enhancing mental wellness, increasing strength and flexibility,

and reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

WHAT IS PHYSICAL EXERCISE? Physical exercise refers to planned and structured bodily movements aimed at improving physical fitness, health and well-being. It encompasses various activities like aerobics, strength training, flexibility exercises and high- intensity interval training. Regular physical exercise enhances cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles, boosts metabolism, improves mental clarity and reduces the risk of chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Consistent exercise also promotes better sleep, mood regulation and overall quality of life.
