Topic: Optimizing Independent Learning in the Era of Society 5.
a. Background of independent learning Changes that continue to occur from the era of industrial evolution from era 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 to the future to 5.0 where there is a change from humans to automation. 60% of jobs in the world will be replaced by automation and 30% of jobs in the world will be used by machines / robots. HR challenges in the future are Soft Skills and Hard Skills. Soft skills that must be owned are problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, human resource management, coordination skills, emotional skills, decision making, service orientation. Hard skills are information technology and mathematics, architects, engineers, doctors, science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
b. Optimizing Independent Learning in Society 5. Optimizing Merdeka Belajar with curriculum development based on a philosophical foundation consisting of progressive flow, constructive flow, humanism flow, and anthropoligical flow. Curriculum policy changes from the 2013 curriculum - simplified 2013 curriculum - prototype curriculum - independent learning curriculum. The concept of independent learning according to Ki Hadjar Dewantara is that students can determine their own direction in the learning process. As a teacher, you must “ ing ngarsa sing tuladha, ing madya mangun karsa, tut wuri handayani ”.
Society 5.0 is a concept of a human-centered and technology-based society. Society can solve various challenges and social problems by utilizing various innovations born in the industrial revolution 4.0 era such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, big data, to improve human quality.
An education needs a change in the paradigm of education, educators become inspirers for the growth of students' enthusiasm, educators become facilitators. In order for independent learning to be optimal, there are 2 things that must be done, namely adaptation and competence. Adaptation needs to know the development of generations ranging from baby boomers, generation X to generations where there is a transformation of human civilization. Competence by having life skills in the 2nd century.
c. Preparing Professional Educators in the era of Society 5. There are 9 characters that teachers must have, namely thinking critically, creative, flexible, communicative, forward thinking, adaptive, understanding how to collaborate, etc. There are 3 things that educators must utilize, namely IoT, virtual/augmented reality, utilization of artificial intelligence. In the era of society 5.0, the main function of the teacher is as a driver and agent of change. There are roles of teachers that cannot be replaced by technology.
