Irrigation is an effort made by humans to irrigate agricultural land. In the modern world, there are currently many irrigation models that can be done by humans. To overcome the increasing need for water for irrigation, buildings have been made - water buildings in the river as a step to overcome the need for water in irrigation. This system means that irrigation depends on the presence of river water for irrigation water flow containers, so that in the dry season when the river flow discharge begins to decrease, the provision of water for irrigation is reduced. To overcome the shortage of irrigation water and ensure more regular agricultural yields, the main problem faced is to seek additional irrigation water. How to get the easiest and simplest water is to use groundwater. In various ways humans try to get the water, which is tailored to the type of needs and conditions of the region.
Water has a very important role for agriculture, especially for rice paddies, corn and other agricultural crops. Rice plants are plants that require a lot of water, especially when growing they must always be flooded with water. In order for rice productivity to be effective in one unit of land area, it requires sufficient water supply through irrigation.Irrigation is an infrastructure to increase land productivity and increase the intensity of harvest per year. The availability of sufficient controlled irrigation water is an input to increase rice production.
The purpose of irrigation is directly to wet the soil, in order to achieve a good soil condition for plant growth in relation to the percentage of water and air content between soil grains. Water application can also have the purpose of transporting fertilizer materials for soil improvement. generally, water application is adjusted to the critical period of the plant. Water requirements for irrigation can be determined by calculating soil water moisture and available water, as well as calculating the level of water availability.
The water level of the puddles will increase due to the absence of drains that can reduce the puddles quickly. Drought can also threaten if you do not improve irrigation channels. As a result, the absorption of nutrients in plants is hampered because water is not available to plants. The function of water for agriculture in general is as irrigation or
irrigation, because without good irrigation, the results of the plants managed by farmers will not get maximum results. In agricultural production, water is one of the most important elements.
The dimensions and shape of irrigation channels need to be considered in order to get a stable channel, a stable channel that is meant here is a channel that is not disturbed by erosion or sedimentation problems (sediment deposits). The problem of getting a stable channel is about determining the speed of use, so as not to arise erosion, sedimentation, or climbing - climbing channel cliffs (Sudjarwadi, 1987).
1. Technicalities encountered when classifying channels as follows: - Primary channel - Secondary channel - Sub-secondary channel - Tertiary channel - Sub-tertiary channel - Quaternary canal 2. Water requirements for irrigation consist of several factors, namely : 1. Patterns and types of plants
Is a factor of water requirements used for several different types of plants - different according to the prevailing cropping pattern.
2. Giving water
