Field Sanitation -The prevention of diseases by eliminating or controlling factors which may form link in disease Factors  Water  Food supplies  Wastes  Insects  House  Water -primary necessity and one of our basic needs for existence of life Honor.   4. Straddle Trench Latrine -Short bivouac and FTX -Approx 4x6 trenches per 10 square meters
  5. Deep Pit Latrine -Longer period of time in buildup areas
  6. Bore Hole or Cat Pit Latrine -March and patrol -Covered immediately with dirt after used
  7. Pail Latrine -Ground is to hard for digging -Water table is too high
  8. Urine Soaked Pit -Prevent accumulation of liquid waste -Water from shower -Sinks -Field kitchen General rules in construction of all types of latrine
  9. It should be all least 100 yards away from the unit mess from nearest water services to ensure free from contamination. Honor. Patriotism. Duty.
  1. A screen should be place around the latrine
  2. Installed a hand wash device
  3. It should be kept clean and polished 4 times a day
  4. Always treat it with chemical disinfectant spray inside to prevent multiplication of vermin. Care of feet during marches and patrol
  5. Bring at least five (5) pairs of issued socks with you
  6. Keep socks clean and dry
  7. Change wet or damp socks as soon as possible
  8. Wash your feet daily
  9. Avoid tight socks and boots
  10. Wear the shoes to keep boots dry, beware of wet socks from sweating
  11. Sweating –avoid unsanitary condition Honor. Patriotism. Duty.
