According to the definition of air pollution, it includes all negative consequences of all causes that affect
the ecosystem or pollute the atmosphere. This a major concern of the new civilized world in the recent
century. Air pollution affects human health and environmental damage.
The first effects of air pollution are alarming for human health. They are known to cause a variety of
cardiac and respiratory issues, as well as cancer and other health problems. In big cities, for example,
cars, buses, motorbikes, and other vehicles on the road account for more than 80% of deadly pollutants
that cause lung damage. Air pollution has been linked to the deaths of millions of people. The ozone
layer can become thinner and thinner as more chemicals are released into the atmosphere,&it emits
harmful rays back to Earth, causing skin and eye problems.
Furthermore, global warming is the immediate alteration effect of air pollution. With increased
temperatures worldwide, icebergs are melting causing sea levels to rise, and toxic chemicals present in
the air can cause animals to move to different habitats. Eutrophication, for instance, is a chemical found
in lakes and sea surfaces that transforms into algae, affecting marine creatures and other fish.
Additionally, harmful substances like sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides are emitted into the
environment. When it rains, the air pollutants react with the water droplets and make them acidic. This
results in acid rain, which is extremely harmful to people, animals, and crops.
To conclude, air pollution is a huge challenge that affects every nation on earth. Everyone is responsible
for doing all necessary to reduce the negative effects of poor air quality. It should be an urgent
requirement for governments to take action and adopt various measures that would decrease the
severity of this problem.
