2. Why did the EC adopt the Common Policies? Discuss the evolution of the Common
Agricultural Policy (CAP).
3. Discuss the costs and benefits of the 2004 EU expansion to the UK economy.
4. Outline the main principles of the EU’s budget. Discuss its main sources of funding and
expenditure.
5. Explain the rationale for a Single Market in the EU. Diagrammatically illustrate how the
elimination of barriers under the Single Market increased competition, enhanced
productivity and reduced costs and prices in the EU.
6. Explains the costs and benefits of joining the Euro. In your opinion should the UK join
the Euro?
