Anyone who has been enlisted to help weed a garden knows how hard it is to tell a weed from a nonweed and may wonder whether there is a secret. What would it be? How do you recognize a weed? Well, the secret is that there isn’t a secret. Weeds are simply plants that gardeners don’t want to have growing in their gardens. Firstly I’d like to say a very big Good-luck to my fellow nominees up here- You’re probably going to need it… For those of you who don’t know me, I am Brittany Jordan… And those that do, well I guess you’re the lucky ones. Today I stand before you because I am running for school captain 2k15. I would like to introduce myself by telling you all a little bit about me. So my sister took the blame, and got in really big trouble. Afterwards, I admitted I was the one who broke it, so my mother put me on punishment and told me “Kayla I am very disappointed in you. Don’t be surprised when something else bad happen, and you tell me you didn’t do it, I don’t believe you.” This experience showed that “honesty” really is “the best policy,” and that it is morally correct to tell the truth. They teach me right from wrong , and put their mommy in check. “Say bless you mommy”, “You’re excused”, “Mommy that wasn’t nice”, “I think you owe grandma an apology mom”. Those are the statements you might hear my children say on a daily basis. As I instill respect in them, they also instill respect and courtesy in me. When my children were born, I knew my life was going to change. I started to feel complete with my life the day my son arrived. Even more complete when my little girl was first placed in my arms. My children have been my rock over the last three and a half years. They have helped me learn, grow, and love by showing me the world through their eyes. I can meet my teachers and ask them to help me on what I don’t understand. I have met with my Psychology teacher and she has help me on what I don’t understand. There are also tutors that can help me on my homework and classes, them like teachers are there to help me on any questions I have. My teacher and tutors have help me a lot because now I understand more the class and when I need help I go with them so they can help me. It was so hot in the room, and it was then that I knew I really was in hell. All I could hear was my heavy labored breathing, and I was concentrating on trying not to pass out from the heat. “Left foot, right foot, go faster, don’t stop, I don’t want any more yelling at me” I kept telling myself this over and over again.
