Language skills need to be assessed in both skills.
DSM 5 Diagnostic Criteria (APA, 2013)
1. Vocabulary (word knowledge and use)
2. Sentence structure (grammar and morphology)
3. Discourse (using vocabulary to connect sentences)
A. Persistent difficulties in the acquisition and use of language
across modalities (spoken, written), may involve comprehension or production deficits in one or more of the following: (Konuşma ya da yazı dilinin kullanım ve edinimi, üretimi anlayışındaki güçlükler)
