Biographical sketches tell a lot of interesting fa cts about the person. It tells about the age in wh ich he lived. Biographi cal
sketch also tells about the hobbies, interests, f riends, influences in the life of that person and a bout his accomplishme nts.
In your biographical sk etch (about 500 words) you need to consider th e following questions:
- Where did this person live?
- What did they do for a living?
- Were they married?
- Did they have children ?
- Who were their parents ?
- How long did they live in central Illinois?
- Why did they join the a rmy?
- What happened to them in the Army?
- What happened to them after the war?
- When did they die?
- How did people remem ber them?
Your writing needs to b e typed – 12 point font, double spaced. The pa per should be about 50 0 words long. Make su re you
check for spelling, pun ctuation and verb usage .
Each person should co ntribute to the sketch. Y ou will evaluate each o ther on how much you contributed.
You may not be able to answer all the question s, that is OK! You migh t also find other inform ation that you would like to
add, that is OK too! Ma ke your report and pres entation interesting.
Your presentation shou ld not just be one of yo u reading the paper you wrote. Make note card s and share the time!

Biographical sketch means an account of the life and activities of an individual or family. A biographical sketch is always written by someone else except the person on whom it is written. Biographical sketches tell a lot of interesting facts about the person. It tells about the age in which he lived. Biographical sketch also tells about the hobbies, interests, friends, influences in the life of that person and about his accomplishments. In your biographical sketch (about 500 words) you need to consider the following questions:

  • Where did this person live?
  • What did they do for a living?
  • Were they married?
  • Did they have children?
  • Who were their parents?
  • How long did they live in central Illinois?
  • Why did they join the army?
  • What happened to them in the Army?
  • What happened to them after the war?
  • When did they die?
