Se refiere a lo que realiza el profesional médico en el desempeño de su profesión frente al paciente y a la sociedad.

MÉDICO-PACIENTE
Se brinda la oportunidad de negarse o manifestar la voluntad de colaborar en un estudio. Admitir el consentimiento de un sujeto que no actúa de forma voluntaria es legalmente inaceptable.
VOLUNTARIEDAD
Permite al enfermo satisfacer su deseo y necesidad de salud y al médico, cumplir con una de sus funciones sociales más importantes.
